The Reds drafted Tim Costo in the 41st round of the 1987 draft, but he decided to go to college rather than sign a pro contract. Three years later, the Indians made him the 8th pick overall, ahead of should-be Hall of Famer Mike Mussina, who wasn’t selected until the 20th pick by the Orioles. Before he could get to the majors, the Indians traded him to the Reds in 1991 for Reggie Jefferson. Costo played a handful of games at the big league level in 1992 and 1993, but didn’t play like a first round draft pick. The Reds send him back to Cleveland in 1994 for Mark Lewis, but Costo never played a major league game for the team that drafted him. He was named head coach of the McCallie High School (Chattanooga, TN) baseball team in July, 2016.
