The highlight of the 2013 “Heartbreaker” tour is, without a doubt, the encore. Ann and Nancy Wilson come out and play “The Battle of Evermore,” then are joined by the rest of Heart as well as Jason Bonham and his band to roar through five more Led Zeppelin songs, capping off the night with “Stairway To Heaven.”

I can’t say it enough, if you have a chance to see Heart perform live with Jason Bonham, take it! This was the best concert I attended this year so far.

Heart brought their jaw-dropping “Heartbreaker” tour to Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati on Saturday night, and thrilled the crowd with their classic rock sound. Ann Wilson’s voice sounds as strong as ever, and Nancy Wilson is full of energy on stage. The band, consisting of Craig Bartock (guitar), Dan Rothchild (bass), Ben Smith (drums), and Debbie Shair (keyboards), does a fine job of recreating the vibe of the studio recordings.

Heart has several tour stops scheduled into November, and you will definitely have a good time singing along to “Barracuda,” “Magic Man,” “Crazy On You” and all of their other hits.

Photoset: Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience (July 27, 2013 @ Riverbend Music Center, Cincinnati OH)

The son of the late drummer John Bohman is a very in-demand man. He has played with UFO, Black Country Communion, and his own eponymous band, as well as sat in for his father with the surviving members of Led Zeppelin on a couple of occasions. Currently he is touring with a group of very talented musicians performing the music of the classic rock icons. James Dylan is the man behind the mic, giving a very good impression of the inimitable Robert Plant. Tony Catania handles the six-string fretboard while Michael Devin of Whitesnake lays down the bass notes.

Opening for Heart at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience performed an electrifying eight-song set starting with “Rock and Roll.” The group is doing another month of shows; if they are coming to your area, you need to see this performance.

Public Enemy brought the noise Thursday night, thrilling the crowd at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Part of the Rock Hall’s Class of 2013, Chuck D and Flava Flav delighted old school hip hop fans for an hour with the best performance on this stop of the Kings of the Mic Tour.
