Rick Springfield is best known for his 1981 pop song “Jessie’s Girl,” but when he wasn’t coveting his best friend’s girlfriend, Springfield was working on his acting chops. He starred as the main character in Nick Knight, a 1989 television film that was intended to serve as a pilot for a series, but the network declined to pick it up. Nick was a centuries-old vampire who worked as a detective in Los Angeles.
A few years later, Forever Knight was developed into a series north of the border. Geraint Wyn Davies was now in the role of Nick Knight, and the setting was Toronto. The series lasted three seasons.
