My oldest son and I braved the winter storm to attend Redsfest Friday night, and loaded up on autographs! I was able to obtain four players that I did not previously have, and got three more cards signed for my 1984 Topps Reds team set autograph project!

Nick Christiani made his big league debut Friday night in a 6-4 loss to the Brewers…but the loss wasn’t his fault. He faced five batters, holding them hitless with a strikeout, a groundout, and two popflies.
Thanks to TWJ contributor Patrick for this “fun card!”
This dude ain’t gettin’ a card this year.
Updates have been slow on the baseball front, but the photos from spring training are starting to pop up. I announced a couple of weeks ago that I was going to work the theme of long shots…if you want to see Joey Votto or Brandon Phillips, take out a mortgage and buy a pack of cards.
Nick Christiani was a 13th round draft pick for the Reds in 2009, but has quickly worked his way up through the Reds farm system. In two seasons spread across A, AA, and AAA ball, Christiani has posted a 6-6 record with a 3.68 ERA and 91 Ks in 129.2 innings. The Reds are pretty deep on the mound, however, so it’s doubtful he will see any time in the big leagues unless he has developed some Sidd Finch-type stuff.
