The greatest Super Bowl commercial

I didn’t watch much of the big game last night, and I haven’t YouTubed all of the commercials. But I’ve seen this one pop up on Facebook and several blogs, and I’m not afraid to say that it is hands-down the greatest Super Bowl commercial of all-time.

So much 80s awesomeness here…Hulk Hogan, Ponch, Cliff, Alf, Chucky, Jason, Teen Wolf, Sgt. Slaughter, Dee Snider…I could go on, but you get the point.

Thank you, Radio Shack, for bringing a little joy to my life.

A couple of great Pepsi MAX commercials

Starring Mike Schmidt, Rickey Henderson, Ozzie Smith, Lou Piniella, and more, these commercials brought a smile to my face. Though I wish they had gotten someone other than C.C. Sabathia for the first one. To be honest, I didn’t even know who it was until someone called him C.C.

Bud Bowl

The greatest advertising campaign in television history was Budweiser’s “Bud Bowl,” starting in 1989. I only remember the first two, but they actually kept this thing going through most of the 1990s during the Super Bowl. Check out Mike’s memories of the ads at the X-Entertainment blog. You can also watch Bud Bowl 3, Bud Bowl IV, and Bud Bowl VI at RetroJunk.

Nice shoes.
