I didn’t watch much of the big game last night, and I haven’t YouTubed all of the commercials. But I’ve seen this one pop up on Facebook and several blogs, and I’m not afraid to say that it is hands-down the greatest Super Bowl commercial of all-time.
So much 80s awesomeness here…Hulk Hogan, Ponch, Cliff, Alf, Chucky, Jason, Teen Wolf, Sgt. Slaughter, Dee Snider…I could go on, but you get the point.
Thank you, Radio Shack, for bringing a little joy to my life.
Did you hear they are remaking Child’s Play? Hollywood has no original ideas, so they rip themselves off creatively.
The original Chucky, while not completely original, was creatively executed. I always wanted a Good Guy toy, and probably will get a hold of one someday. I just hope mine isn’t possessed by Charles Lee Ray.
Day 16 – Your favorite childhood themed horror film…
I really wanted to go with Children of the Corn here, but I cannot in good conscience call it “childhood themed.” Yes, there are kids and they are some of the creepiest kids ever, but they act more like little adults. Thus, I declare CHILD’S PLAY as my favorite childhood themed horror movie, because what is more childhood themed than getting a toy for your birthday? Fortunately, none of the toys I got for my birthdays (or Christmas) growing up were demon-possessed.
Rumor has it that both Brad Dourif (the voice of Chucky) and Catherine Hicks (Andy’s mom in the original) will be back for the 2011 remake.
