Happy Reds birthday, Pid Purdy!

June 15, 1904

Pid Purdy not only played 181 games in the major leagues from 1926 to 1929, he also played 17 games for the Green Bay Packers during the 1926 and 1927 seasons. He was not a star in either sport, but he showed promise in both; for the White Sox and Reds, he batted .293 in four seasons; for the Packers, he started 12 of 17 games.
