Happy Reds birthday, Frank McCormick!


June 9, 1911

Frank McCormick was one of the best first basemen in the National League during his career; he appeared in seven straight All-Star games (and an eighth after a one-year break), was named MVP in 1940, and three other times finished in the top ten for MVP. He led the NL in hits from 1938-1940, RBI in 1939, and doubles in 1940.
