Happy Reds (and Kelly’s Killers) birthday, Wild Bill Widner!

June 3, 1867

Wild Bill Widner started his career in 1887 for the Cincinnati Red Stockings and ended it in 1891 for the Cincinnati Kelly’s Killers. In between those bookends, he pitched for the Washington Nationals and the Columbus Solons. According to Wikipedia, Solon was an Athenian statesman, lawmaker, and poet.
