Happy Reds birthday, John Stuper!

May 9, 1957

If you had told me that John Stuper only played four seasons in the major leagues, I would not have believed you. He debuted for the Cardinals in 1982, winning the World Series with St. Louis, starting two games and winning Game 6. The Reds traded for Stuper after the 1984 season, sending Paul Householder to St. Louis, then traded Stuper after the 1985 season to Montreal along with Dann Bilardello, Andy McGaffigan, and Jay Tibbs for Sal Butera and Bill Gullickson. The Expos released him before the 1986 season began.
