Happy Reds birthday, Tom Bolton!

May 6, 1962

Talk about a real Clark Kent. After several mustachioed years in Boston, the Red Sox traded Tom Bolton to Cincinnati, where he would have to risk razor burn to his upper lip. There is no way I would have identified the player on the 1992 Score Traded card above with the pitcher from Boston. He does not look at all like the same person. Bolton bolted for Detroit in 1993, and the mustache returned.
