Happy Reds birthday, Rogelio Alvarez!

April 18, 1938

Rogelio Alvarez played 17 games in the majors, all for the Reds, in 1960 and 1962, but his one and only baseball card did not come until 1963. Topps included him as a Senator on a four-player “Rookie Stars” card along with Tommy Harper. There is a very nice “Card That Never Was” showing Alvarez with the Reds on the Rating the Rookies blog.
