Happy Reds birthday, Robin Jennings!

April 11, 1972

Many times when a player refuses to sign with the team that drafted him, he is taken in a higher round in later years. Not so with Robin Jennings. The Orioles selected the outfielder in the 30th round in 1990, but he declined their offer. He fell to the 33rd round the following year, going to the Chicago Cubs. He stayed with the Cubs organization for a while, appearing in 45 games for the big league club between 1996 and 1999. In 2001, he played more games than all of those previous years combined, but for three different teams: the A’s, the Rockies, and the Reds.
