Happy Reds birthday, Jack Hendricks!


April 9, 1875

During Jack Hendricks’ six-year run managing the Reds, the team never finished higher than second place. His 1926 squad won 87 games and finished only two behind eventual the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals. Hendricks’ squad that year included Hall of Famers Edd Roush and Eppa Rixey.
