Happy Reds birthday, John Ganzel!


April 7, 1874

If there had been an All-Star game in 1907, first baseman John Ganzel would have likely been on the roster. He led the National League with 16 triples, while finishing in the top ten in total bases, doubles, and runs batted in. In 1908, he served the Reds as a player/manager, but the team finished with a .474 winning percentage under his leadership.
