Happy Reds birthday, Dave Miley!

April 3, 1962

Dave Miley played 418 games in the Reds’ farm system from 1980-1987, while also doing some coaching for Tampa and Sarasota in 1986 and Vermont in 1987. By 1988, he was managing the Greensboro Hornets, working his way through the ranks until he was appointed skipper of the Reds in 2003. He was a second-round draft pick in 1980; of all the Reds’ 1980 picks, only four made the majors: Ron Robinson (1st round), Danny Tartabull (3rd round), Eric Davis (8th round), and Scott Terry (12th round).
