Happy Reds birthday, Bill Kennedy!

Kennedy

March 14, 1921

After serving in the Army, Bill Kennedy mowed down 456 batters for the Class D Rocky Mount Rocks in 1946. That’s the second-most strikeouts ever at the professional level; in 1907, Grover Lowdermilk struck out 465 for the Decatur Maltoon in the Three I Eastern Illinois League. Once he was in the majors, though, Kennedy never reached triple digits in K’s.
