Happy Reds birthday, CJ Nitkowski!


March 9, 1973

C.J. Nitkowski was a first-round draft pick for the Reds in 1994, but a year later they traded him to the Detroit Tigers for David Wells. In nine games for Cincinnati, Nitkowski was 1-3 with a 6.12 ERA. In addition to the Reds and Tigers, he also played for the Astros, Mets, Rangers, Braves, Yankees, and Nationals.

  1. I thought Nitkowski was going to be a stud. Add that to the list of reasons that I’m not a baseball scout.
