Happy Reds birthday, Aaron Boone!

March 9, 1973

Aaron Boone is a rare third-generation major leaguer, and even rarer, a third-generation All-Star. His grandfather Ray Boone was a two-time All-Star; his father Bob Boone was a four-time All-Star; Aaron was named an All-Star in 2003 (and brother Bret Boone was also an All-Star in 1998, 2001, and 2003). Aaron hit the last home run ever at Cincinnati’s Riverfront Stadium off the Phillies’ Dan Plesac. Aaron also played for the Yankees, Indians, Marlins, Nationals, and Astros.
