Happy Reds birthday, Rolando Roomes!

February 15, 1962

Rolando Roomes debuted for the Cubs as a pinch runner in 1988, but made an impact with the Reds in 1989, hitting .263 in 107 games for Cincinnati. His biggest downfall was strikeouts, and a crowded outfield resulted in waivers; Montreal picked him up in June, 1990. The Society for American Baseball Research published a lengthy article about Roomes in 2011.
