Happy Reds birthday, Ross Grimsley!

January 7, 1950

Ross Grimsley only spent three years with the Reds, and was gone before the World Championship seasons of 1975 and 1976. Grimsley posted a 37-25 record with a 3.26 ERA for the Reds, but was traded following the 1973 season to the Orioles. He later signed with the Expos, where he was a 1978 All-Star, and also pitched for the Indians. The Hardball Times posted a very interesting article about the free-spirited pitcher in 2010, and The Hall of Very Good conducted an interview with him in 2013. According to Grimsley’s Twitter profile, he is currently the pre-game show host on 105.7 The Fan.
