2015 Reds, 1990 Score style: Sean Marshall
Who gets $6.5 million for doing nothing? Sean Marshall, that’s who. The Reds acquired Marshall in one of the worst trades in the team’s recent history. Travis Wood, Dave Sappelt, and Ronald Torreyes were sent to the Cubs in exchange for Marshall prior to the 2012 season. In his first year with the Reds, he pitched 61 innings and had a 2.51 ERA, but only pitched 24 1/3 innings since then, including a big zero this year. Marshall is a free agent after this season, and I have no doubt Walt Jocketty will try to lock him up to another three-year deal worth about $30 million.
