I can’t believe this album is 40 years old

On September 10, 1975, one of the most groundbreaking concert albums was released, and if this album isn’t in your collection in some shape or form, your rock cred is seriously in question. I am speaking, of course, about Alive! by KISS. After poor sales of their first few albums, Casablanca Records decided to release a live collection as a last ditch effort before dropping the band from the label. To everyone’s surprise, the record caught fire and KISS became one of the most sought-after live bands in the world.

KISS has had plenty of ups and downs through the years, and the only constants in the group have been Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. But with the other original members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, they truly made magic. A fantastic live performance, and a great record to crank at maximum volume.

Purchase Alive! by KISS.
