The other half of “Marty and Joe,” Marty Brennaman never played in the big leagues. Marty has never held back his opinions, and though they have made him unpopular with the Reds brass at times, he has always stuck to his guns. He was the recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award in 2000. His son, Thom Brennaman, is also a part of the Reds broadcasting team.
I know, it’s difficult to get excited about a broadcaster. There are so many bad ones out there (hey, Tim McCarver, I’m talking about you!), but the Reds were lucky to have one of the best broadcast teams ever in Marty and Joe. Marty isn’t half as fun to listen to now without the ol’ lefthander in the booth with him, but he’s still a Hall of Famer and still better than most of the bozos on nationals television (hello again, McCarver).

Might have to print this card out and get it signed at Redsfest. Awesome.
I LOATHE McCarver as well.
I never even thought of doing that Dan, but it’s a good idea. I have an old Kahns card of Marty and Joe with Joe’s signature on it. I never got Marty to autograph it, and am hesitant to do so now with Joe’s passing.
