NaNoWriMo starts in just over 5 hours…

At midnight tonight, I begin my month-long quest to write 50,000 words. The emphasis is on quantity, not quality, so I don’t know what it will look like (if anything) at the end of November, but I’m going to try to complete the challenge. You can get more info about NaNoWriMo at nanowrimo.org.

I love snopes.com

When I first saw the below photograph, I was sure it was a shop job.

But no! According to snopes.com, it’s real! And here’s the video to prove it…

Go to about the 4:24 mark on the video, and you can see McCain sticking his tongue out. You have to watch closely, as [...]

Tentative Title: Undecided

NaNoWriMo update…I’ve decided on a potential direction for my November novel. I’m calling it (at this point at least) Undecided. Of course, that may change once I start writing (at midnight Saturday morning), and the “Satire, Humor & Parody” genre may change also. Since at this point I am still “undecided.”
But no, it will have [...]

I’m probably going to regret this.

While clicking through my blogroll today, I stumbled across a post on Trying To Quit My Day Job, a blog of another dreamer…I mean aspiring author…like me. Anyway, the post was, “OK, Now Where Was I?”, and it had a link to National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo). I’ve never heard of this thing before, [...]

Dopplegangers.

What happens when you put a Kansas City Royals uniform on Jeff Goldblum, star of the 1986 film classic, The Fly?

Well you get this, of course…

2008 Donruss Threads Cincinnati Reds Team Set

I saw this on eBay the other day, and probably should have bid on it. It ended up selling for just 99 cents, plus $3 shipping, so about a dollar a card. The four cards in the set are Cincinnati legends who will never be forgotten: Pete Rose, Tony Perez, Tom Seaver and Alexis Oliveras.
Wait [...]

New Pete Rose baseball cards?

I’m not sure how Donruss managed to pull this off, but they have issued new cards picturing Charlie Hustle in their 2008 Threads product. They also have Joe Jackson in the set. Both of these players are banned from baseball, yet baseball (and their licensees) can still profit from them?

Another question…why in the world hasn’t [...]

Celebrate Halloween early!

Tomorrow night on Hard Rock Nights, we’ll be going through some of the most mortifying hard rock ever recorded! Of course there will be some KISS, Ozzy and Alice, but we don’t stop there! We’re going to rock out with some seldom heard Fastway, Dangerous Toys, and Armored Saint, and we’re even throwing in a [...]

HRN News…

A few things going on in the world of my radio program, Hard Rock Nights…
First, this coming Saturday (October 25) is the Halloween edition of the show. Two hours of the best horror-themed hard rock ever made! You can listen to the show online at classxradio.com every Saturday night from 9-11 pm, eastern time.
Second, we’re [...]

Like Randy, I’m scared to death of “Santa Claus”

You remember Randy, right? Ralphie’s little brother in the all-time classic, A Christmas Story. He’s looking forward to seeing Santa, smiles brightly as they watch him in the parade, wait for hours in line to see the big man. And then the moment comes, and Randy sits on his lap, and he screams and cries [...]

Hard Rock Halloween

I’m in the process of putting together a setlist for my October 25 radio show which will focus on horror-themed hard rock music. I’ve already got some Twisted Sister, Iron Maiden, and Alice Cooper lined up, among others. If you have any suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments. Keep in mind that [...]
