August is looking like it will be a great month for music in Cincinnati. There are several shows coming to Riverbend that I hope to attend.
August 14, Kid Rock and Lynyrd Skynyrd will be playing with special guest Rev Run of the legendary Run DMC. I’ve seen Skynyrd before, in 1995 with Tesla, and it was an awesome show. But I would also like to see Kid Rock live; I hear he is great in concert.

August 16, Poison, Dokken, and Sebastian Bach are going to throw a huge hair metal party. I’ve seen Poison live three times, and Bach solo once. Poison is always a great show. Bach wasn’t that good when I saw him, but I love his studio work so I hope I’m surprised. I’ve never been a fan of Dokken with the exception of the Erase the Slate album featuring Reb Beach. But he’s no longer the guitarist now that Winger is back together, so I don’t expect too much from them.

August 19, Crue Fest will bring down the house with Motley Crue, Buckcherry, Sixx:A.M., Papa Roach, and Trapt. I’ve seen Motley twice, and that’s always a killer show, but I’m really looking forward to Buckcherry and Sixx:A.M.

Any good shows in your area coming up?
