No more WordPress at work
I should have known it would happen. Actually, I guess I did know. I can no longer log on to WordPress or visit any WordPress site while at work. YouTube is blocked as well. As of 6 this morning, I could still check my Gmail account, but won’t be surprised if it is blocked when I get in tonight.
Last night at lunch, I came home and got my son’s GameBoy and took it back to work with me. I’ve also got a book about the Harlem Globetrotters just waiting to be read, not to mention my novel that I haven’t worked on since November. Maybe this is a good thing; maybe it’s just what I need.
Or maybe I’ll just continue looking for another job on Career Builder. Until it’s blocked too.

Think about it for a minute— YOU’RE AT WORK! Shouldn’t you be earning what your employer
pays you to do? If you have that much free time on your job to write your blog or play Gameboy don’t complain. There are people in this world with back breaking jobs, crappy jobs, and jobs where they are working with psycho co workers that management is afraid to fire. Try to make some kind of noticeable work contribition so that when the layoffs start you wont be one of them. Maybe your and your co worker’s failure to be productive could be the reason your company will go out of business. On the bright side many companies are limiting their employees’ access to the internet. You will find that out on your next job.
By the way, good luck on writing your novel. Hey! I’ve got an idea. Now you can write your novel while you’re at work?!! huh?, huh?. Your job may have done you a favor by limiting internet access.
Productivity is not limited by the internet. As I mentioned in the previous post, we have to answer the phone when it rings. In between rings it can be a very long night.
I would understand the change if the internet was affecting our work, but it’s not. This is being done purely in retaliation.
And as to the novel, I may finally get back to it. I hate to think that it’s something I do only when bored, but I just haven’t been interested in the past few months to even look at it.
Try using a few proxy server. It has worked for me in the past.
